Conductors: Plain annealed copper or aluminum conductors according to IEC 60228 (Class 1 or 2).
Conductor shielding: The conductor shielding shall be non-metallic and shall consist of an extruded semi-conductive compound with a semiconductor strip applied on top of the semiconductor compound. The conductor shield shall be applied outside the conductor and inside the insulating shield in a triple extrusion process.
The conductor shield is applied in a triple extrusion process outside the conductor and inside the insulating shield. The conductor shield consists of a nonmetallic layer of extruded semiconducting compound that must be securely adhered to the insulation to exclude all gaps. The conductor shield is suitable for use in the range of 1.8/3KV to 3.6/6KV.
3.6/6KV for PVC, EPR/HEPR insulated cables is not required.
Insulation: 1.8/3KV and 3.6/6KV cable ranges are generally insulated with PVC, but can also be insulated with XLPE, EPR/HEPR.
