Crane Cable
 

Crane Cables are engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of heavy-duty applications. They must be robust enough to simultaneously handle torsional (twisting) and tensile (stretching) stresses. To meet these requirements, many crane cables feature a durable rubber outer sheathing, protecting constant reeling and movement and resisting oils and greases. Additionally, some cables come with Polyethylene (PUR), low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) compound or PVC sheathing options to cater to specific needs.

Wires
Steel wires in crane cables consists of non-alloy carbon steel with carbon content ranging between 0.4 to 0.95%.

This enables it to have very high strength that can run over small diameter sheaves and support large tensile forces.

 

Strands
It consists of wires on different layers crossing each other with equal lay lengths and parallel superimposed layers.

 

Spiral Ropes
These are round strand assemblies of layers of wires helically laid over a center with other layers in the opposite direction.

 

Stranded Ropes
It consists of several strands helically laid around a core in one or more layers.

 

The core can either be fiber core, wire strand core, and independent wire rope.
